We were super excited to be attending the District 34 Awards Ceremony for Carter who rides motocross. During motocross season we get to travel a lot but we mostly do it in our RV. He worked so hard this entire year and really kept me on my toes with this dangerous sport we just couldn’t pass his awards ceremony up. This time we would do it without our RV and instead, stay at Best Western. With news of Jonas flooding the stations we were a bit skeptical about our ride and our stay but luckily Best Western accommodated The Campos Family and everything turned out great!
I called to double check on my reservations due to the weather when we realized that my name could not be found. I wanted to cry under my pillow but thankfully the service at Best Western was so great that Ashley soothed my anxiety about travel and where to stay and said it would all be taken care of and she was right! She granted me the price that was originally promised and my check-in time was spot on. The service at Best Western was so nice and friendly and very personable. If there’s one win for me, it’s friendliness and how a company values a customer. They went above and beyond to make me feel valued!
Upon arrival, which was after five hours of straight driving in blizzard conditions, we were greeted with great professionalism. I was exhausted and just wanted to get into our room. It was all ready – nice, clean and fresh. It was very kid-friendly too, as we stayed there for the banquet. I also saw two dogs and had no idea that Best Western was pet friendly. I wish I would have asked sooner because I would have traveled with one of my pit-bulls had I known! I thought that was wonderful because of course our fur babies are our family members, and who likes to travel without them? I will definitely keep this in mind when I travel again.
The ceremony for the awards was held in a very spacious and inviting space. The tables were neatly decorated and the service was great. After we dined the staff was respectful of our plates and kindly waited to ask if we were done. There have been many times that I have been to a restaurant or hotel and they have not waited for me to give permission to take my plate. This time around I loved that they asked and if someone wasn’t by their plate, they left it.
Walking into our room, it was very clean and tidy. The bed was nicely made and the bathroom was spotless. The boys heard about the indoor pool and in it, they were in heaven. They had a supply of clean towels for them and here I was all prepared with my own. The water was at a great, comfortable temperature. The kids loved watching the blizzard take place as they were in the pool, feet away from floor to ceiling windows. They also had a section with a mini arcade and a great space when we walked in to watch some television with a roomy sitting area.
On the morning of our last day at Best Western, we were treated to a complimentary breakfast during which I had no chance to snap a picture because it was just so scrumptious. We were catered to with scrambled eggs, two different types of sausage, biscuits with gravy, waffles, pancakes and the delicious list goes on. The boys were in heaven once again. I wish we could have stayed longer but we had to get back home to clean up after the blizzard. It was really like a quick family getaway and I can’t wait to do it again! I hope you followed our motocross journey to Best Western, and beyond!
